As an employer you have the important responsibility of providing with your employees with a safe and healthful work environment. Every person, when they go to work at each day, has the right to expect that they will come home at the end of their shift no worse for the wear. But that is not always true. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that in 2009 three million two hundred seventy seven U.S. employees were injured on the job. The BLS also reports that in 2010 four thousand five hundred and forty seven employees never got to go home at all – they died on the job.
To put this number in prospective, since the beginning of America’s war on Terror in 2001 we have lost less than 2000 of our soldiers in Afghanistan.
