December 3, 2007 - The Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accident's Office
of Safety is now taking
Occupational Safety and Health Training Grant
Applications for fiscal year 2009.
The objective of this program is to promote safe and healthful conditions in the
workplace through preventive education and training. All employer's within
the the Commonwealth covered by the Massachusetts Workers' Compensation Law
(M.G.L. Chapter 152) are eligible to apply for a grant. Award amounts can
be up to $25,000.

August 3, 2007 - President Bush signed into law the “Implementing
Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007” , also referred to as H.R. 1
and Public Law 110-53.This legislation builds upon the considerable progress
made in strengthening defenses and protecting Americans since the attacks of
September 11, 2001. Within this law is Title IX -Private Sector Preparedness
which Establishes a voluntary certification program to assess whether private
entities comply with voluntary preparedness standards.
